Welcome to Huff Consolidated Elementary and Middle School — home of the Raiders!

I'm Justin Endicott, and it's the honor of my professional life to serve as principal here. We're a PreK-8 school of about 250 students, nestled between two mountains in Hanover, right here in Wyoming County. Deer, turkeys, and the occasional curious squirrel greet our buses most mornings — it's about as peaceful a setting as you'll find for kids to grow, learn, and dream big.

But don't let the quiet campus fool you. Huff is a place where big things happen.

We Are Crew, Not Passengers

It's how we operate! Every single day, our students and staff gather for CREW time: a chance to build relationships, check in with one another, and grow character alongside academics. Our Raider Traits — Respect, Compassion, Trustworthiness, Cooperation, Perseverance, and Reflection — aren't posters on a wall. They're how our kids treat each other in the hallway, on the bus, and long after they leave us for high school.

This year, that culture helped earn Huff Consolidated recognition as one of only six schools statewide named a 2026 WVDE Exemplary Practice School — largely because our chronic absenteeism dropped from over 36% to around 12% in just a few years. When kids feel like they belong somewhere, they show up!

Students Who Dream Big — and Achieve

I couldn't be prouder of our 6th-8th grade Samsung Solve for Tomorrow team, who became national champions this year — placing in the Top 3 in the entire country and winning the Community Choice Vote. These Huff Raiders, among the youngest competitors in the field, designed a real solution to acid mine drainage, a challenge our own community knows well. They didn't just win a competition. They proved that where you're from doesn't limit what you can build.

That spirit lives in our classrooms every day, where our teachers use a Model of Instruction built around student-led teams — kids learning to think critically, solve problems together, and take ownership of their own growth.

A Little About Me

My wife, Katie, is the principal at our local high school — the very one most of our Raiders will walk into after they leave us. Our kids, Emma and Noah, keep us both grounded (and humble). I lead this school the way I try to live: with intention, with heart, and with the belief that every single kid who walks through our doors deserves someone who dreams as big for them as their own family does.
